Pure Hands addresses climate change and environmental risks as core drivers of vulnerability, food insecurity, water scarcity, displacement, and conflict. Climate and environmental action is integrated across our Sustainable Development & Climate Resilience Program, ensuring that recovery and development interventions remain effective under increasing climate stress.
Pure Hands implements climate and environmental actions both as dedicated, standalone interventions and through integrated, cross-sectoral approaches (water, livelihoods, health, education infrastructure, energy systems, etc), ensuring that climate risks are addressed directly while reinforcing resilience across development and recovery programs.

Flood Response (Climate-Induced Emergencies)
Rapid Action in Response to Floods and Extreme Weather
In response to seasonal floods and sudden-onset climate shocks, Pure Hands delivers rapid, life-saving humanitarian assistance to affected communities. Our flood response interventions include:
Emergency food assistance and cash support to meet immediate needs
Provision of temporary shelter and non-food items (NFIs) for displaced families
Essential health and WASH services to prevent disease outbreaks
Deployment of pre-positioned emergency stocks to enable timely response
Needs Assessments and Evidence-Based Targeting
To ensure assistance is timely and targeted, Pure Hands conducts rapid multi-sector needs assessments following climate shocks to understand impacts, identify priority needs, and guide response decisions. These assessments help quantify damage and loss, service disruptions, and emerging protection risks, and inform programming for cash and food assistance, shelter and NFIs, emergency health and WASH, as well as early recovery options. Findings also support coordinated planning and evidence-based resource mobilization.

Pure Hands’ climate action is grounded in the understanding that climate change increasingly drives humanitarian loss and damage, particularly in fragile and crisis-affected contexts. Floods, droughts, and extreme weather events continue to erode livelihoods, damage infrastructure, and reverse development gains.
By linking emergency response, recovery, and climate-resilient development, Pure Hands contributes to addressing both the immediate impacts of climate shocks and their longer-term consequences. Our approach aligns humanitarian response to climate-induced loss and damage with resilience-building efforts, supporting communities to recover, adapt, and reduce future risk.
