OUR WORK
Impact
Since 2013, Pure Hands has delivered principled humanitarian assistance and sustainable development support to communities affected by conflict, displacement, poverty, and climate-related shocks. Through a people-centered and results-driven approach, the organization has translated donor support into large-scale, measurable impact, reaching millions of women, men, girls, and boys across fragile and crisis-affected contexts.
Pure Hands operates across the humanitarian–development–peace continuum, ensuring that immediate life-saving assistance is closely linked with recovery, resilience, and longer-term solutions. Our work is grounded in humanitarian principles, accountability to affected populations, protection mainstreaming, gender equality, disability inclusion, and conflict sensitivity.
Emergency Humanitarian Response
Delivering Life-Saving Assistance When It Matters Most
Pure Hands responds rapidly to emergencies caused by conflict, displacement, food insecurity, and climate-related shocks, including floods and extreme weather events. Emergency interventions focus on saving lives and sustaining dignity, delivering food and cash assistance, emergency health and WASH services, shelter and non-food items, protection, and education in emergencies. These responses are supported by rapid needs assessments, pre-positioned emergency stocks, and strong field coordination.
Cumulative Emergency Impact (2013–2025):
11.2 million individuals and 4.4 million households supported through emergency humanitarian programming.
Sustainable Development & Climate Resilience
Reducing Vulnerability and Building Resilient Futures
Beyond emergency response, Pure Hands invests in sustainable development and climate resilience to address the root causes of vulnerability and reduce future humanitarian needs. Interventions span climate-resilient WASH, livelihoods and agriculture, health systems strengthening, education infrastructure, economic empowerment, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability.
Climate action is delivered through both standalone interventions and integrated approaches, enabling communities to adapt to climate shocks, protect livelihoods, and strengthen essential services in the face of increasing environmental stress.
Cumulative Development Impact (2013–2025):
11.4 million individuals and 5.0 million households reached through development and climate-resilient programming.
Social Cohesion & Peace & Human Development
Inclusive Services, Stronger Communities, and Peaceful Coexistence
Pure Hands strengthens human capital and social cohesion by expanding equitable access to essential services and promoting inclusion, participation, and protection. Interventions focus on health, education, protection, mental health and psychosocial support, women’s leadership, youth engagement, and community participation. These efforts reduce protection risks, support recovery, and foster trust, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence at community level.
Cumulative Reach (2013–2025):
6.9 million individuals and 1.0 million households supported through human development and social cohesion initiatives.
Localization & Capacity Strengthening
Locally Led Action and Sustainable Impact
Localization is central to Pure Hands’ approach. The organization invests in strengthening national organizations, community structures, and service providers to lead humanitarian and development responses. Through institutional capacity building, governance support, safeguarding, and community engagement, Pure Hands promotes locally owned solutions that enhance accountability, effectiveness, and sustainability.
Key achievements include strengthening dozens of national partners, supporting community committees, rehabilitating health and education facilities, and building the capacity of frontline service providers.
